The advantage of this era is people can easily make a business without a huge venture capital to begin with. Selling becomes easy by using digital marketing since it can reach many people at the same time. The problem is to survive for the long term and keep growing business since there are so many competitors out there on every product and services.

With this condition, many business owners ( mostly new businesses and surviving businesses ) begin to ask how to win the competition and “ steal “ your competitor’s customers.

Well, rather than see your competitors as enemies, it would be wise if you see them as motivation to grow your business. Why?

markets today are smart, they can get any information they want. If they choose your competitors over your brand, that means your competitors know well their audiences and give their audiences what they want more than what your business could.

And it’s not only about who can give more discounts and cheaper price, it’s just short term. Besides, many businesses sell their product and service way higher than their competitors but they still win the competition.

So once again, rather than see your competitors as enemies, it is better to see them as motivation so you could grow your business.

What should you learn from your competitors?

Since your competitor gets huge profits with his methods, it means they really know their customers and how to approach them. So here are what you can learn to your competitors.

Monitor what their customer say about their brand and how they approach their customer

Well, if your competitor succeeded with their brands, it means that they are good at it by working hard and patience along the way, so they get the idea on about their market is and how to approach them.

So you can check about their customer’s reviews and learn what are their customers looking in their brand. What kind of pain point, dream, hope that their customer wants from their brand.

You can learn as well on how your competitor speaks to their audiences. You can see how they approach their audiences on their ads, on the keywords they choose, and on their landing page. You will get so many insights that can help you grow your business.

Check and Monitor their funnel

Since your competitor knows their market very well, it means that they know how to structure their marketing strategy properly based on their market.

You can purchase something or become their leads and learn how they structure their marketing funnel, how they do the upsell, cross-sell, down-sell and they package their product/service. And you can see whether they have weaknesses in their funnel and vulnerability so you can improve that in your funnel marketing strategy.

Avoiding Their Mistake

In this digital era, you can get any information that you want. You can check your competitor’s work, more likely if you have experience as their customer.

If you have that experience ( become your competitor’s customer ) you can analyze their work and see which part that you should imply into your business, which part that you can improve, and which part that should avoid.

Competition is good for any business because it helps develop self-awareness and helps you avoid mistakes and complacency.

By competition, your business can keep growing, and you can create more unique and creative angle to approach your audience.

Hopefully, this article brings value to you. Let’s discuss if you have something in mind or you can leave a comment. And you can share it as well with your colleagues.
